Nominees for the 6th edition of Telemundo’s “Premios Tu Mundo” (Your World Awards or Tu Mundo Awards), the only entertainment awards show on Spanish-language TV exclusively based on fan votes, were announced today during the network’s morning show “Un Nuevo Dia.”
CNCO, Carlos Ponce, Carolina Gaitan, and David Chocarro topped the list of nominees.
This year, in partnership with Telemundo, iHeartRadio will present nominees in five music categories for the 2017 Premios Tu Mundo including Favorite Regional Mexican Artist by iHeartRadio, Favorite Pop Artist by iHeartRadio, Favorite Tropical Artist by iHeartRadio, Favorite Urban Artist by iHeartRadio and Favorite Party-Starting Song by iHeartRadio. CNCO led the list of musical nominees with three nominations, two of them in the musical categories including Favorite Pop Artist by iHeartRadio and Party-Starting Song by iHeartRadio, for their hit song “Hey DJ,” featuring Yandel. In addition, #CNCOwners are nominated for Fan Club of the Year.
Top acting nominees during the announcement were Carlos Ponce with three nods for his work on “Silvana Sin Lana” including: Favorite Lead Actor, Favorite Unlucky Lead Actor and The Perfect Couple alongside Maritza Rodriguez. Carolina Gaitan’s leading role on “Sin Senos Si Hay Paraiso” earned her three nominations including: Favorite Lead Actress, Favorite Unlucky Lead Actor and The Perfect Couple with Juan Pablo Urrego. For his work on “La Doña,” David Chocarro also garnered three-time nominations including Favorite Lead Actor, Favorite Unlucky Lead Actor and The Perfect Couple together with Aracely Arambula.
The 2017 edition of “Premios Tu Mundo” will feature 20 competing categories, in addition to three special awards, for a total of 23 awards.

“Premios Tu Mundo” will broadcast live on Thursday August 24, 2017 at 8pm/7c from the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami, Florida, with a lead-in one-hour pre-show special “La Alfombra de Premios Tu Mundo” at 7pm/6c. Both programs will air simultaneously on Universo, the fastest growing Spanish-language entertainment cable network in the U.S., and in 24 countries throughout the Americas on Telemundo Internacional.
